Agree objectives, a responsibility matrix, data rules, insurance and risk arrangements, outcome indicators and exit criteria.
Basic orientation
Code of conduct, cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, anti-harassment, boundaries and emergency contacts.
Role design
Document tasks, exclusions, competence, hours, reporting line and stop-work conditions.
Background checks
An authorised party performs proportionate checks according to local law, beneficiaries and role risk.
Onsite supervision
Name a local supervisor for every activity and record attendance, briefing, escalation and close-out review.
Data protection
Collect the minimum, state the purpose, control access and retention, and support access, correction and deletion requests.
Incident handling
Put safety first, escalate immediately, preserve necessary facts, notify accountable parties and complete a review.
Three-party model
Where the project host lacks volunteer-management capacity, include a qualified local volunteer-service organisation.
